UPDATE: THIS IS AN APRIL FOOLS' JOKE =D
In a bold move by the BBC, The Sarah Jane Adventures has become the first ever British children's show to get a Blu-ray release! Currently only available in the US under Region 1, Amazon.com has recently put up a placeholder for a high-definition boxset of the first series; due out later this year.

Offering far superior video and sound than anything else available on the consumer market, Blu-ray technology will make watching SJA a truly cinematic experience! We tried to get in touch with the BBC regarding the release, but were unsuccessful in our attempts to get any information. We were, however, later contacted by someone under the alias of frail_polo09, who claimed to be a BBC Worldwide employee. Though there's no way to verify their identity, they were kind enough to leak us what seems to be an initial mock-up of the boxset:

The release date has been penned down for the 'third quarter' [sometime this Autumn] and as such, the cover art may be subject to revision prior to being officially marketed. Is this a response to Russell T. Davies' recent claims that not enough is being invested into children's TV? And as the second show in the Who family to receive a Blu-ray release, will the parent show ever follow in the footsteps of its spinoffs? More information as we get it!

Great! I'll put it next to my Blu-Ray releases of "Lost" seasons one to three, "The Wire" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".
What a very revealing day it's turning out to be!
