With just a few short hours to go, the BBC have released a behind the scenes video to whet our appetites for tonights SJA special! It confirms previously-disclosed spoilers regarding Ronnie Corbett playing an intergalactic ambassador...who isn't all that he seems(!) The video goes on to interview co-writers Gareth Roberts and Clayton Hickman, who express their fanboy-ish joy at having a patriarch of comedy like Ronnie acting out their words.
'It's a fantastic opportunity for us to contribute to the charity, which is such a worthy cause,' states producer, Nikki Wilson. 'It's good to be able to reach a wider audience for our show, as well. So it's good all 'round!'
Indeed, airing the special at such a prime-time slot featuring such a well-known celebrity is bound to get some fantastic exposure for the show. It's even managed to get a mention on the front cover of the Radio Times; which is a first, I think! Be sure to tune in to the special on BBC1 tonight, which kicks off at around 7pm. However, don't be surprised if you don't spot any Rednosicles during the 5-minute short! We've received word that this is actually a false rumour the BBC have been circulating to prevent plot leaks, clever folk that they are. So SARAH-JANE.tv humbly retract said statement, and apologise for any confusion. Bum leads like these seem to be part of a bigger BBC initiative to keep SJA plot details under wraps until they choose to disclose the information. So any rumours we receive outside of confirmed set reports and reliable contacts will be taken with a pinch of salt.
In other news, a new branch of the Doctor Who Exhibition is opening up in Coventry today. Hosted by the Coventry Transport Museum, the exhibition may be featuring a little corner of SJA material! Yaay. I'll be popping down for the grand opening later, so stay tuned for a report of my findings!

Ah the exhibition wasn't all that great, and very tiny. The only SJA stuff you'll find in thar is a Sontaran, Slitheen and good ol' K9. And only 'cause they were on DW.
Anna Friel...well, unlikely. With the sort of salary she's used to on Pushing Daisies, I doubt she'd slum it on SJA wages. Plus the tabloid rumour of her playing some sort of zombie-doll is blatantly fabricated. Still, if the BBC happen to confirm this later on in the year - no one will be more surprised by the news than me. :P

Golly, that caps/lowercase mix must be almost as difficult to write as it is to read...
Now that she's very successful, it could be that Miss Friel is able to take jobs she'd enjoy over big-bucks things - and who wouldn't love a guest spot on SJA? I remain slightly skeptical, but very hopeful (rather fond of Anna Friel).
Well, the show did get Samantha Bond - so anything's possible.
And good GOD, I'M MOVING TO CARDIFF.
May consider popping down there whilst the third series is filming and do a little SJA sight-seeing.
No comments or reaction to the Red Nose Day SJA special?
I was...unphased :P At least on the first viewing.
Did like it after the second and third time, though! But not SJA's best work :P
