It hasn't even been a day since our last little helping of spoilery goodness, but the BBC Press Office have today officially put the word out on the Doctor's appearance on The Sarah Jane Adventures!
"When I heard the news that David was going to be joining us I was absolutely over the moon." exclaims Elisabeth Sladen, who plays the title character. "Not only has it made my day but it will also make the viewers' day. It's fantastic news that Sarah Jane is going to spend some time working with The Doctor again and is testament to just how successful this CBBC series is."
Russell T. Davies reconfirms what he said in the latest DWM regarding the Doctor's appearance not just being a cameo, but goes on to state that "he and Sarah Jane face their biggest threat ever." But it doesn't end there...!
The press release goes on to reveal several more spoilers regarding the stories featured in the third series, so if you'd rather not know - look away!
We'll encounter a new alien race, the reptilian Veil and their enemies the Judoon, an extraterrestrial girl that can make people play games against their will, a living painting, the inhabitants of a supposedly haunted house, monsters who want to infect Earth with a strangely aggressive weed and a chance for Sarah Jane to find personal happiness with someone who could be the perfect person to complete her family, confirming Russell T. Davies' statement in DWM that "the wedding of Sarah Jane will be a day for everyone to remember!"
Sounds like this is going to be the most exciting series of SJA yet! The article states that the show returns to our screens this September.
UPDATE - DigitalSpy and Newsround are reporting that the Doctor features in episodes five and six (which forms Adventure Three). Since every series of SJA kicks off on the last Monday of September, the first part of the crossover (written by Gareth Roberts) should premiere on the CBBC Channel on October 19th!

Nabu, one great big I told you so coming your way!! (With regards to Sarah Jane's wedding). T'is strange; I had heard that it was Chrissie Jackson getting married... Perhaps it *is* but the timelines change so that it's Sarah who marries Ivan?!
Oh, and boo!! I've had an idea about a living painting stored away in my head for almost 15 years now!! Was saving it for the day that I'm running the show!! (Doctor Who, that is).
The girl that can make people play games against their will has a "Fear Her" vibe about it. It will hopefully (!) be ten times better than that. Though, it can't be much worse!!
My guess is the Doctor shows up in two of the September or October episodes. Don't think he'll appear once "Waters of Mars" has broadcast, as that particular episode bleeds into Tennant's Christmas finale.
The girl who makes people play games against their will had a sort of Celestial Toymaker vibe for me! I want to see what she makes the trio play with her! Jenga! Poker? Twister! :D
The living painting idea's been around a bit, saw it being used on Supernatural last! Can't wait to see how SJA twists the idea! Does the painting talk to you? Does it house an entity or trap you inside it? Sounds more magical than alien to me, which usually turns out to be the best stories on SJA, I find!
What happened to Anna Friel as a giant Zombie Doll !? Is that the new race !? Is that why they were filming in Toys'r' Us !?
EPISODE ONE : ___________ by PHIL FORD
Contains : The Reptilian Viel and Judoon
EPISODE TWO : ____________ by JOSEPH LIDSTER
Contains : A Living Painting
EPISODE THREE : _____________ by GARETH ROBERTS
Contains : Doctor , K9 and a new alien race (aka ANNA FRIEL)
HM ....
I think the Anna Friel thing won't be happening. It was reported in a tabloid, and never confirmed or heard from again... Though if it does happen, I'd be over the moon.
Sarah May Marry IAN!!!
that would be great
i hope that her gettin maried doesnt mean there no series 4 , to me it sounds like there tieing loose endings
Well, this is only episodes 5 and 6 - there's 6 more to go after this one, so a little *too* early to begin to tie it all together, methinks.
I'd say that this is most definitely it for the SJA though. Sounds to me like Tennant is a last hurrah for the show.
Not sure how I feel about losing the SJA right now, after how series 2 played out.
I don't even count most of Series 2 into my mind. Heck, I haven't rewatched most of the second series eps since my first viewing on TV. Terrible fan, I know :P But I have high hopes for the third series!
I'm sure it'll have all manner of celebrity appearances, David amongst them.
Now if only Nick Cortney could come back as The Brig! :)
So would it be safe to assume that the Judoon will be the aliens that feature in the first and last stories like the Slitheen in series 1 and the Sontarans in series 2?
Evidently this means that Sarah and Chrissie are getting married. Nabu, I'll make Cathryn ask Juliet when she goes to the con on Saturday ;)
"monsters who want to infect Earth with a strangely aggressive weed..."Return of the Vervoids anyone?... :P
When I read about the agressive weed, I thought of this cartoon show where a baddie used the same plot to terraform Earth into one giant golf course! *dork* I think the aliens have more ambitious goals :P
Lol Kaite, you should sign up to Doctor Who Forum [while you still can *sob*] to get the lowdown on the spouse! Sadly he's of the yummy older man variety. I'm sure Sarah Jane will run off with Chrissie in the end, though!
