This is something that Sarah Jane is keen to keep from Bannerman Road, and Series Two's newest addition, fourteen-year-old Rani Chandra and her parents Gita and Haresh. And thirdly, and the eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted this already, that's a REGION 1 second series set! Meaning that despite Season 2 not airing in the US [yet], American SJA fans will be getting the boxset anyway, on November 10th, 2009 - a day after the UK! :D A big 'huzzah!' for fans across the Atlantic! I'm so happy I'm willing to look past how garish the cover looks.
UPDATE 26/08/09: TVShowsOnDVD have posted up an article about the second season set, too - with a picture of it from another angle. They've also stated that a boxset of the third series is currently in the planning stages!

I'm loving that cover!
I dunno...too much pink for my liking. But it could work...I guess? It's not as good as the first series cover, that's for sure. Hope the British cover has a nicer layout. :)
I think with the lack of "real" aliens in series two, it was probably their only option. But I actually like it a bit more than the first's cover, it's a bit more tasteful.
I am disappointed Yasmin isn't on there though, technically she was still part of the show.
I wish they had a better picture of Sarah Jane-but who am I to complain? ;)
I wonder what UGO TV Blog's sources are-I can't find any other info about the dvd release!
*still hoping someone here in America will pick up series 2!*
They must've had an early press kit sent to 'em. TVShowsOnDVD and Amazon will have the boxset up on their sites soon enough. =3
Awesome!
Everything's happening in November! :D I'm so excited about this and the cover's looking great! The interviews with the cast and crew should be interesting to watch, too- they didn't have that on series 1 dvd. Do you know anything about the Sarah Jane Adventures thing in Manchester?
I do, I'm going :D
Great news about the second series being released here in the US. Too bad about the cover. "Atrocious" is a word that comes to mind. For the uninitiated, "Sarah Jane" could be a big ugly bald guy. And why does (the real) Sarah Jane look so troubled and unsure. I'd rather an image of her looking confident and knowing. It reminds me somewhat of how pissed off I was by the depiction of Sarah Jane in "The Stolen Earth" - so weepy and cowering. Totally at odds with the character, in my view. Thankfully the real Sarah Jane emerged in "Journey's End." Did anyone else have similar thoughts about the two-part finale of Doctor Who's season four?
Well considering the cover seems to be based around The Last Sontaran mostly, then the image of SJ would fit since she was terrified of going up against a Sontaran. If SJA has taught us anything it is that SJ isn't always fearless, not even in the presence of a clown!
Well . . . the Doctor isn't always fearless either, but that's not conveyed on the covers of DVDs, etc. It just seems that, once again, marketing folks have a hard time portraying a strong woman.
Sure, the character of Sarah Jane is multi-faceted - that's why we all like her so much. It just seems that, as with many female characters, certain facets are deemed more appropriate than others for public display.
