As we end 2006, and prepare for the launch of "The Sarah Jane Adventures" tomorrow, now is an ideal opportuntity to look back on the past week or so, and catch up on some new items we might have missed. Here goes...
Elisabeth Sladen has been doing the rounds. She's been interviewed by the (free) British newspaper Metro, and talk about what the new SJA special brings to the character of Sarah Jane. You can read the interview in full here.
Sladen also offers notorious British tabloid "The Sun" a so called 'exclusive' interview (though we've heard most of it before!). Elisabeth tells the paper all about her wishes to have more leather costumes when the series proper begins filming in April... and at that, thousands of fanboys hearts suddenly explode, as the thought of Elisabeth Sladen in tight black leather becomes far too much for them to take...
But enough about that (*cough cough*). This is a family site...
The January 4th issue of Doctor Who Magazine (see above)promises to feature a behind the scenes article on "Invasion of the Bane" - as well as the return of Sarah Jane's old comrade, Lethbridge Stewart, in the first of a brand new new comic strip adventure. Expect it in WHSmith's across the country later in the week, priced £3.99.
In other news, I've received an interesting email from somebody who claims to work for 2 Entertain, the DVD arm of the BBC. The soucre claims that "The Sarah Jane Adventures" will be released in a two disc DVD package towards the end of next year - but how he or she knows this information when the series is still another three/four months away from filming is anybody's guess. The words "take", "with" and "salt" spring to mind I'm afraid...
Enjoy the New Year celebrations boys and girls - and remember that tomorrow sees the welcome return of an old friend on BBC One television. Alas, not "The Vicar of Dibley" - but the brand spanking new Sarah Jane Adventures! We'll see you along for the ride!
