Serious Issues...

A quick update on the news front today: this month's issue of TV Zone Magazine was released today, and includes interviews from within Upper Boat. Not only are there previews of Doctor Who and Torchwood, but also a quick look behind the scenes of the Sarah Jane Adventures.

THIS IS WHAT A PRESS EMBARGO REDUCES YOU TO...

It's revealed within the interview that SJA's art department has a budget thought to be three times bigger than that of either Doctor Who or Torchwood. This corrosponds with news I reported upon last month, about the BBC spending more money than ever before on its children series. And you know what, the thought only makes me more excited about the prospect of SJA this New Year's Day.

TV Zone issue 210 is out now, priced £3.99... And (confussingly) features the same cover as the most recent issue of Doctor Who Magazine!

Talking of DWM, it's revealed in the "next issue" section that January will see the beginning of a brand new comic strip adventure with the Tenth Doctor, featuring the return of an old face - the Brigadier! The former UNIT chief shared some six adventures with Sarah Jane Smith (if one includes "The Five Doctors") and in the new SJA series, he's honoured by Sarah-Jane having a photograph of him up on her loft wall.

Happy memories it would seem...

With more new issues expected to hit news stands over the next week or so, before the Christmas rush, there's sure to be even more coverage of the Sarah Jane Adventures. Now that the press embargo is about to end for the series (thought to be some time next week) we might actually see some photographs in a few of those magazines too... We'll keep you guys and gals posted on all upcoming developments.

Now, Sarah-Jane, we're disappointed to find there's no photos of Benton or Mike Yates in your lofts...

A budget three times bigger?

Whatever are they going to be doing in SJA that they haven't done in Who and TW? The production values on those are already great considering they're BBC-made... clearly SJA is going to blow our minds!
