Looking To The Future

We've now gone a full month without any real news, and the number of posts every week is slowly dwindling. SJ.tv feels a little directionless at the moment - making this an ideal time to look ahead to the future, and take stock of what we've got.
+
The Series
It's thought that auditons are currently taking place for the series; and at the same time, the scripts are being written by the likes of Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts. Filming is expected to begin around April time, in and around the Cardiff area. More news when and if we get it.
+
Broadcast
Filming is thought to take four months, meaning that a July/August premiere date is likely. However, the BBC could hold back on the series, so that it debuts during September 2007, when their new Autumn season officially begins. If this happens, it'll be perfectly timed for the kids starting back at school - and will run up until around Christamas time.
+
If I were a betting man (and I'm not) I'd put my money on an early September date.
+
Merchandise
A "Sarah Jane" action figure launches as part of the "Doctor Who - series two" range later in the Sprng, and after that we should start to see the SJA toys hit the shelves. Whatever the case, expect to see a sonic lipstick toy in shops before the Christmas rush. Place those pre-orders now.
+
There's also expected to be a range of Sarah Jane novels, aimed at 10 - 14 years old; although we have no further news on what form these books will take.
+
Sarah-Jane.tv
Over the next couple of months, "Raxxie's Quest" will continue to explore the classic series adventures of Sarah Jane Smith - and expect other reviews from Peter Pan and Romana 1 too. But it won't all be about the past...
+
We'll be looking to the future once filming begins; and monitoring all the latest updates on all things relating to the brand new "Sarah Jane Adventures" - so stick with us if you fancy yourself a true Smithie!
+
On top of that, we'll update on "K9 Adventures" too - a series that doesn't look to have the brightest possible future. Nevertheless, if it's Doctor Who related (and it is, no matter what you say!) we'll report it here, so keep those eyes peeled!
+
I realise that SJ.tv hasn't been the busiest or most exciting of sites recently, but stick with us cos we've got some great things lined up for the future. Do come back here real soon, won't you?
+
Wouldn't want you missing out on the fun...
