Issue 349 of Starburst Magazine features an exclusive interview with Gareth Roberts - who talks about writing "The Shakespeare Code", as well as his work on "The Sarah Jane Adventures" Bane-sized pilot episode. The man also takes the opportunity to look to the future, and drops some hints about what we can expect from the full Sarah Jane series later in the year.
EXPECT A BIZARRE SJA/SPIDER MAN CROSSOVER...NOT
Apparently Gareth is writing adventures one and four (so four episodes in total). His work on the first two-parter is now complete, and script editing has now started on it ahead of its recording. Gareth (at the time of the interview) was busy writing his next two-parter, which makes up "Sarah's Childhood". No specific details surrounding these episodes hawere revealed during the interview, sadly.
Gareth does reveal however that there will be some sort of over riding story arc for the series, with his "adventure one" containing plot stands that will be picked up again in "adventure five" (thought to be written by Russell T Davies) What form this story arc takes is currently unclear - but who's intrigued by the thought of it?!?
Elsewhere, there's also an interview with Helen Raynor about the return of the Daleks in the "Daleks in Manhatten" Doctor Who two-parter. Features some ultra cool Dalek photos...
You can catch Starburst # 349 all for yourself right now at newsagents everywhere. Aside from Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures it features a look behind the scenes on Spider Man 3 with Tobey Maguire, a look at Danny Boyle's "Sunshine" and a talk with Smallville's 'Aquaman' (lucky us!). It costs £3.99, so what are you waiting for???
