Soon Be Christmas....

Over at the official BBC Doctor Who site, there's a news article about the forthcoming audio release Doctor Who at the BBC: The Tenth Doctor (narrated by the SJA's own, very delicious Lis Sladen). Interestingly (?!) the release also promises to feature "a bonus peek at the Christmas episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures"...

Now, it does say 'bonus peek', suggesting that its something yet to come, rather than a Bane reference from last New Year's. Could it be... a Christmas special?! If so, then it's news to me! Perhaps it's just a reference to "The Lost Boy", the final adventure of the SJA's first season, which could potentially air in the run up to Christmas? If anyone out there can confirm anything, please drop us a line here or chuck something in the comments post below.

UPDATE: Judging from this article, we can look forward to some delightful Sarah-Jane features in the next issue of SFX ... so hopefully we'll find out more then!

I personally think is a bit of a red herring. "Invasion of the Bane" was considered a "Christmas Special", and reported as such in several BBC news articles. I think we're just seeing it being referred to by the phrase most casual buyers of the CD will recognize. This close to Christmas, with a wrap party already being called, I don't think it likely there's some hidden Christmas 2007 special out there.

"Bonus" here just means "extra". It doesn't necessarily imply "never-before-seen". This is cross-marketing for people who will pick up this CD for its Doctor Who content, but who may have missed "Invasion of the Bane". Given its release date, it's a clever way to remind Tenth Doctor fans that there's some new Sarah Jane content just around the corner on television, and that "Invason of the Bane" is next up on the DVD release schedule..
