As part of this year's Children in Need appeal, the BBC are offering fans of Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures the chance to win a behind the scenes tour of Upper Boat - the studios where all three series are shot. The main interior of the SJA, Sarah's attic (which houses Mr. Smith), is located there - next to the TARDIS, and Torchwood Cardiff's Hub!
The official announcement was made here, via the BBC Press Office.
This Friday - live on Radio 1's Chris Moyles show - Russell T Davies, David Tennant and Catherine Tate will formally launch the competition, by unleashing upon the Great British public the very question they need to answer to be in with a chance of winning.
Here's how the prize is described, "Visitors will tour the closely-guarded sets, come face-to-face with some of the Doctor's mortal enemies, and meet the behind-the-scenes teams who make it all happen – including the set designers, costumiers and make-up artists."
Says Russell T Davies, ""This is so exciting – giving fans the opportunity to take a behind the scenes look at where we film Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures is just brilliant. It'll be the perfect opportunity for the whole family to experience something unique and truly extraordinary. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience – and the best thing is that all the money raised will go towards BBC Children in Need."
The official BBC CiN website is housed here. This year's televisual appeal airs November 14th - the theme being "Do Something Different" (wasn't that last year's theme, too?!).

I honestly squelched my pants when I heard about the competition. The level of detail that goes into making the sets is just amazing. You can have a lot at Sarah Jane's attic, for example, in the current issue of Radio Times - and it looks FABULOUS.
It's a once in a lifetime oppurtunity, and I'd pretty much sell my soul to go! :P Meeting the set designers would and aliens would be brilliant, too! I really like the idea that you can take guests with you, fun for all the family! The BBC are amazing for offering the fans the chance to do this!
MUST TUNE INTO Chris Moyles on Friday!!!
