Be There/Square

Sarah Jane Smith. BBC One. Tonight.

Be there, or be square.

The episode in question? "Secrets of the Stars" part one - though you can also watch the concluding episode afterwards on the CBBC Channel.

Reader comments regarding tonight's episode:

"[It] was different (in a good way)... Mr. Truman is one of the most powerful beings Sarah Jane has ever encountered on the show" - so says Mr or Mrs. Anonymous!

Monseiur Nabu San, "What a fantabulously AWESOME episode this week! Acting, writing, music and special effects - all SPOT ON! Favourite bit was Luke's talk with his mum over not having a birthday, which I found really touching. Even moreso than Sarah Jane's toy clown tear-jerker from the last two-parter. I can't WAIT to see how the story concludes! So far this season, each episode has had at least one weak episode in every two-parter. Hope 'Secrets of the Stars' breaks the trend."

"It's not one of my favourites... if only because I don't care about astrology. Thankfully the show reinforces the fact that it's all nonsense and rubbish!" Courtesy of the majestic Who Cares.

Hang on; I've suddenly got an overwhelming sense of Deja Vu...

It's like these posts are starting to repeat themselves, or something...

Hmmm... wonder if *that* was the point that the anonymous writer was trying to put across in the last post's comments section..?

;)

QUICK QUESTION HOW DID U CHANGE THE LINK TO THE BBC PRESS OFFICE TO THE WORD "HERE"

It was way too obvious how this was going to end from the point Clyde was dehypnotised. Off course the fact that Luke would provide the solution not having a birthsign was obvious from the very start of the story.

There were some nice character moments but not quite enough to make up for it's flaws. (Like rani qouting Clyde back in part one when she wasn't in the scene he said it in.)

The mass hypnosis thing is getting old also whatever happened to good old-fashioned small-time alien invasions. We've only seen one geniune alien this year and all these metaphysical enemies are starting to grate.

Every story this season has featured hypnosis in one form or another. So can't we have a little creativity for a change. Looks like next week poeple are being taken over... again. [sighs] Oh well at least it'll have massive character development for Clyde.

this was a lacking part 2 as the whole sarah jane getting destroyed was solved a little too quickly and when sarah told all 3 companions to go upstairs in the theatre either rani or luke noticed that clyde had not followed i'd say it was an ok episode and as whocares rightly stated they do overuse hypnosis a weak part 2 but i'll give it a 6

Sadly the trend of one weak episode for every two-parter wasn't broken this time around :P Clyde was the star of the show this week, though. Brilliant sense of humour, great acting skills outside the theatre and a very dramatic performance when he was possessed. Daniel Anthony's gonna go far in the 'biz! Have high hopes for Mark of the Beserker!

While Daniel is great in this show working in childrens television at his age isn't exactly the smart thing to do if you want to get taken seriously as an actor.

Well he did do a rather serious show called Dis/Connected last year. Pity it wasn't recommissioned for a full series. He played a really dark character. Albeit a teenage character, but that's where his talents lie.

But Remember AS THE BELL RINGS on Disney Channel ? that was a kid show yet he was the only one who was beilivable and if hes believable then people will take him seriously and the talent within.

Well talent more like stature. Oddly there seems to be some kind of curse which demands british actors called Daniel to be short.

but he's getting taller

Dream on the guy is 21 he won't grow taller anymore.

Bwhaha =P *glomps Daniel Anthony*
